A location identity is the name of a place, such a a city or feature of a geography. It can identity the smallest of communities that you might expect to find on a transportation map or an area as large as a global region. You can conduct a more efficient phase search for a place of interest by using a concise, but unique, location ID as is shown by the following example:
The name Big Canoe in combination with the abbreviation for Georgia (Big Canoe, GA) is enough information to identify the location of Economic Development Services, the enterprise behind The Network. What is a location ID?
It's the identity of a place of interest to a .network core user. ID is an acronym for Identification Data or IDentity. Page up for a definition of location identity.
If your interest is in North America, for example, the two words are enough for searching and finding location information on the Web. Copy suggested search terms below to the search engine provided to see what you can find online about North America as it relates to site selection, a process of enterprise development.
Search for North America using the following GRC search tool. In North America, the state of Alabama in the United States (US) is another example of a location ID. Locations seeking economic development in Alabama are identified in the GRC using the state's two-letter abbreviation, AL. Search for locations in North America using state and province abbreviations.
